Ontario International Airport may get its first visit by a Concorde supersonic plane in September, under a plan to help the sagging British tourism industry, officials said. Travel agents are currently booking $7,500 seats for a special British Airways supersonic transport flight from Ontario to London. The price includes lodging and return travel on the Queen Elizabeth II to New York. However, officials are withholding the date when the faster-than-sound jet will touch down in Ontario, because they fear large crowds will gather to view the Concorde, airport spokesman Dennis Watson said. The swept-wing, needle-nosed jets are operated by British Airways and Air France.
