Doctor Who Helped Found Eye Bank Honored by U.S.

WASHINGTON — Baltimore eye specialist Dr. Roy O. Scholz, who helped establish the U.S. Eye Bank, was honored Wednesday by the Health and Human Services Department for his worldwide battle against eye disease and blindness. Scholz received the Distinguished Public Service Award, an honor previously bestowed on such international figures as Mother Teresa and Mrs. Anwar Sadat.
