A 20th anniversary salute to “Star Trek,” complete with an appearance by Mr. Spock himself, actor and director Leonard Nimoy, is slated for June 21 and 22 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim.
Nimoy will be on hand June 21 to speak about the just-completed movie “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home,” which is scheduled for a Christmas release. He will also screen clips and slides from the movie, which he directed. Also that day a real marriage between two devoted fans of the popular television and motion picture series will take place during a “Star Trek” cabaret, which will include a staged comedy and a masquerade.
Special guests of the salute will include “Star Trek” creator Gene Roddenberry, “Star Trek IV” producer Harve Bennet, actors DeForrest Kelley (Dr. McCoy), Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura), Walter Koenig (Lt. Chekhov) and others.
Tickets for the salute, sponsored by Starlog magazine and Creation Conventions, are $16 per day in advance (through Ticketron outlets) and $19 at the door. Hours for the event are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days.
