Driver Thrown Onto Pavement, Killed as Car Flips Near Castaic

A 21-year-old man was killed Wednesday when his speeding car flipped several times on the Old Road near Castaic, tossing him onto the pavement, the California Highway Patrol reported.
CHP Officer Harry Ingold said the man, identified by authorities as LeRoy Weisenseel of Castaic, was driving south about 6:15 p.m. when he attempted to use northbound lanes to pass a slower vehicle and veered out of control.
Weisenseel was pronounced dead at the scene.
