Fullerton Drops Women’s Golf Team

Women’s golf has been dropped from Cal State Fullerton’s athletic program on the recommendation of the university’s athletic council.
Turnover in the program’s head coaching postion, low participation and a small pool of high school programs from which to draw were cited by the council, which is composed of students, faculty and athletic department staff.
Athletic Director Ed Carroll said the school lacks the resources to upgrade the women’s golf program and hopes that those being used to support it “could more wisely be allocated to the other women’s sports.”
