Rangel Named North’s Honorary Captain

Valencia High School linebacker Robert Rangel, whose football career ended last year after he was involved in a three-wheel all-terrain vehicle accident, has been named honorary captain for the North team in the 27th Orange County All-Star game on July 11 in Orange Coast College’s LeBard Stadium.

Rangel suffered a broken nose, collarbone, shoulder blade and had two lower leg bones fractured when his vehicle collided with a dune buggy in the desert near Brawley on Oct. 19. He spent four days in intensive care and currently is rehabilitating at St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton.
