American Interstate Net More Than Triples

American Interstate Bank in Newport Beach posted second-quarter net income of $218,000, more than three times the $69,000 earned a year earlier. Net income in the first six months also tripled to $299,000 from $95,000 in the first half of 1986.
At the end of June, the bank had $61.4 million in assets, a 16.9% increase from $52.5-million reported a year earlier.
