Denis P. Kalscheur, 36, has been named vice president and treasurer of Fluor Corp., with the immediate assignment of focusing on debt reduction for the engineering, construction and technical services company, which had lost almost $780 million in the 30 months ended April 30.
Kalscheur replaces David Copley, who left earlier to join a British investment banking firm. During the search for a successor, the responsibilities of treasurer were handled by Robert Guyett, senior vice president and chief financial officer of the Irvine-based company.
Kalscheur formerly was senior vice president and chief financial officer for AirCal and spent seven years with the Flying Tiger Line Inc. and Tiger International, leaving in 1986 as vice president and treasurer. He also has five years of commercial banking experience.
