SACRAMENTO — A bill aimed at coordinating efforts to clean up San Diego Bay was approved by the Assembly Tuesday and sent to the governor.
Under the legislation authored by Assemblywoman Lucy Killea (D-San Diego), a 22-member panel would be formed to develop a plan to “clean up and protect” the bay.
A six-member subgroup of the panel, consisting of representatives from state and county agencies, would meet bimonthly to share information, Killea said.
The full panel would be charged with compiling an annual report detailing the bay’s pollution problems and proposing solutions.
