Former California Governor Edmund G. (Jerry) Brown, Jr. will emerge from his reclusion to be a television commentator during Pope John Paul II’s visit to San Francisco, ABC-owned KGO-TV Channel 7 announced this week. Brown was selected along with several religious experts because he was once a Catholic seminarian, news director Harry Fuller said. The one-time presidential candidate will be paid for his work, but Fuller would not say how much.
