UCLA will begin construction this winter on the $20-million Doris Stein Eye Research Center on a four-acre site next to the Jules Stein Eye Institute on campus.
The 67,000-square-foot research center will accommodate expanded programs of the eye institute and the UCLA School of Medicine’s department of ophthalmology, officials said.
The building will be built with funds from the Stein estates and from the Jules and Doris Stein Support Group, which is handling the contracts, the design, construction and equipping of the facility.
