Tasso Breaks Through to Win Del Mar Feature

DEL MAR — Tasso, ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye, was boxed in the upper stretch but broke through and won by a half-length over Hopeful Word in the $40,000 feature race Thursday at Del Mar.

Tasso ran 1 1/8 miles on the turf in 1:51 and paid $6.60, $3.40 and $2.20. Hopeful Word, ridden by Laffit Pincay, returned $2.80 and $2.20.
