Brea Opens Against Baldwin of Hawaii

Quarterback Shon Riley, who started the final three games last season for Brea-Olinda High School, will be one of only five returning starters on the field tonight when the Wildcats open their football season against Baldwin High School of Hawaii at Fullerton High School.
“We’re coming along but are a little beat up after two-a-days (practices),” said Wildcat Coach Bill Brown.
Brown said four to five of his 35 players will miss the game with injuries. That will force him to start at least four players both ways.
Baldwin, which is located on the island of Maui, defeated the Wildcats at Hawaii last year, 27-14.
Baldwin won its season opener last week, beating Honolulu’s Kalaini High School, 30-20.
Tonight’s game will be the first test for Brea-Olinda’s wishbone offense and 3-4 defense, the same formations used by the team last year, when it finished 4-6. Game time is 7:30.
