STOMACH TURNING

My stomach turned upon reading Morning Report’s item on the new comedy show entitled “Frank’s Place” and its bogus delicacies (Aug. 24).
The article speaks of executive producer Hugh Wilson’s hiring of a chef (Austin Leslie) from New Orleans to prepare meals for the show rather than force the actors and star Tim Reid to eat prop food.
However, he has no qualms in hiring non-union extras to work in the same scenes, subjecting the actors and star Reid to work alongside scabs , when the hiring of union extras would probably offset the cost of bringing in a chef from New Orleans, thus avoiding the problem of getting fresh crayfish for scenes that in no way can a viewer even identify.
