Local News in Brief : Burbank Schools OK Budget of $37 Million
- Share via
The Burbank Unified School District board has approved a $37-million budget for the 1987-88 school year.
School officials said the budget, which marked a $1-million increase over last year’s spending package, had no major changes in funding for schools. It was approved Thursday.
However, parents who enroll their children at the debt-ridden Horace Mann Children’s Center will have to pay a higher fee to help overcome the child-care center’s deficit.
The center has accumulated a debt of more than $507,000 over three years because of inappropriate budgeting procedures, officials said.
The fees, which had ranged from $90 to $150 a week, will be increased to $92.50 to $172.50.
