Police are asking the public’s help in finding a 20-year-old woman who disappeared nearly three weeks ago.
Andrea Lee Garland of Newport Beach was last seen Aug. 17 when she dropped off her boyfriend at Pinafini, the Costa Mesa restaurant where he works, and drove off in his pickup truck to appointments she never kept, Sgt. Mike Jackson said.
“We thought she might have just disappeared on her own. She was confused about where her life was going,” Jackson said.
Garland, who had been a waitress at the California Beach restaurant in Newport Beach, had recently dropped out of Orange Coast College and was no longer working, he added.
When she first disappeared, her family searched the Baja and San Luis Obispo areas, which she was know to frequent, Jackson said. Police do not know whether to suspect foul play, he continued, adding that he hopes “she’s sitting somewhere, thinking things out.”
Garland is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighs 125 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen driving a white 1986 Toyota pickup with a California license plate of 2V57060. She grew up in Huntington Beach, but her current address is Newport Beach.
Anyone who has seen Garland or the truck is asked to call police at (714) 644-3711.
