Fullerton Women Open With Volleyball Wins

The Cal State Fullerton women’s volleyball team opened its season Friday with a pair of victories in the Hofstra University tournament at Hempstead, New York.
Sophomore outside hitter Susan Herman had 18 kills and freshman outside hitter Keri Pier added 15 as the Titans defeated Georgetown, 15-8, 13-15, 13-15, 15-10, 15-8, in the opening match.
Pier had 18 kills and Herman 14 as the Titans defeated Hofstra, 9-15, 15-12, 15-6, 14-16, 15-12, in the second match.
Susan Halsted had 12 services aces in the two matches for Fullerton, which plays Providence and Syracuse today.
