Oxley Wins Speedway’s Scratch Main Event

Brad Oxley of San Clemente won the handicap four-lap scratch main event of the weekly motorcycle speedway racing program at the Orange County Fairgrounds at Costa Mesa Friday night in front of 4,628 spectators.
Oxley was a wire-to-wire winner with Alan Christian of Huntington Beach second, Mike Faria of Colton third and Tom Burba of Garden Grove fourth.
Tuff McBride of Grand Terrace won the eight-lap handicap, Jim Sisemore of Woodland was second, Gary Hicks of Glen Avon third and Scotty Brown of Anaheim fourth.
Archie Perez of Costa Mesa was the support-class winner, and Dave Wendlandt of Westminster won the third division.
