My wife and I have just returned from a touring holiday in California and adjoining states.
We were very impressed and had a marvelous time. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. As soon as they knew we were English, they wanted to talk to us.
I would especially like to thank that driver who came across an Englishman unaccustomed to driving on the right hand side of the road.
Despite the stories of shootings on the Los Angeles freeways, the motorists we came across were considerate and tolerant. That is not always the case in my native country!
