Someone evidently didn’t think it was a hustle, and for $2,500 snatched up a pool cue used by Paul Newman in “The Color of Money” at a charity auction last week in Westport, Conn. The cue was auctioned by local police as part of a fund-raising effort for Newman’s proposed camp for children with life-threatening illnesses. Newman lives in Westport. Other items sold at the auction were: five marquee posters for “The Color of Money,” autographed by Newman and co-star Tom Cruise; a set of Gucci luggage; a pool table, and an autographed drill-instructor’s hat from wrestler “Sgt. Slaughter.”
