Rohr Industries Lists Lower Net

Rohr Industries Inc., a Chula Vista-based manufacturer of jet engine components, reported lower net income on increased sales for the fourth quarter and full year ended July 31.

For the quarter, Rohr’s profit totaled $7 million on $200.3 million in sales compared with a profit of $11.9 million on sales of $162.2 million over the same period a year ago. For the fiscal year, Rohr’s net income was $26.9 million on sales of $663.4 million, compared with a profit of $47.3 million on sales of $626.1 million over the previous 12 months.

The company blamed the lower profits on the two-week employee strike during Rohr’s third quarter and on costs related to the expansion of facilities to accommodate new work programs.
