Springman Takes Job at Loyola Marymount

Bill Springman, an assistant baseball coach at Rancho Santiago College, was named assistant coach at Loyola Marymount University Tuesday.
Springman, 30, replaces Chris Smith, who accepted a scouting and minor league coaching position with the New York Yankees.
Springman, who played baseball in the Angels’ organization, is a native of San Clemente. He earned all-Orange County honors in basketball, football and baseball at Dana Hills High School.
