Television syndication magnate Roger King pleaded no contest Tuesday and was given probation on charges of grand theft and cocaine possession in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. King, whose King World Productions Inc. syndicates “Wheel of Fortune,” “Jeopardy!” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show” was accused in February of stealing a cab after punching the driver and knocking him to the ground. Broward County Circuit Judge Mark E. Polen sentenced King to 24 months’ probation, ordered him to pay $2,000 to a Hollywood drug treatment center and to reimburse cabbie Juan Solorzano--who has a civil suit against King pending--up to $600 for medical expenses and lost wages. King’s attorney said his client went through a drug rehabilitation clinic last spring.
