A federal judge in Los Angeles Tuesday ordered four record distributors and producers to turn over all alleged bootlegged cassette copies they have “Wake of the Flood,” a 1973 Grateful Dead album. U.S. District Court Judge David Kenyon entered the order against Auditory Odyssey, a North Hollywood record store, and three Tennessee corporations: Starday Records, Gusto Records and International Marketing Group. Kenyon set a hearing for Sept. 29 charges that U.S. marshals were unable to seize all tapes of “Wake of the Flood” sought in Tennessee. Robert Besser, attorney for three of the defendants, said lawyers have agreed to turn over the tapes in question, but he denied that they are bootlegged copies.
