AMSTERDAM — Two Dutch F-16 fighters intercepted a Soviet Bear bomber in Netherlands airspace over the North Sea on Wednesday, a defense spokesman said.
The four-engined TU-95 was first spotted by the Danish air force as it turned into Dutch airspace from the north, he said.
Dutch fighters from Leeuwarden air base intercepted and escorted the Soviet aircraft for about 15 minutes before a British air force patrol took over, he added.
