Teen Abortion Consent Bill OKd

SACRAMENTO — An emotionally charged measure which would require most minors to obtain parental consent or court permission for a legal abortion won final legislative approval today in the state Senate.
The vote to send the Assembly-approved bill to Gov. George Deukmejian’s desk was 25 to 11, four more than the required 21-vote majority in the 40-member house.
