No. 1 Fresno State Beats UCI in Soccer, 2-0

Fresno State, the top-ranked Division I men’s soccer team, beat UC Irvine, 2-0, Wednesday at Fresno.
The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead at the 40:53 mark on a goal by senior Femi Olukanni. In the second half, Paul Tell scored the final goal to improve the Bulldogs’ record to 1-0-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. play and 3-0-1 overall.
Sophomore Mike Gartlan had four saves for Irvine, which slipped to 1-1.
The Anteaters travel to San Jose State Friday for an 8 p.m. match.
