Danish Prime Minister Poul Schlueter announced a new Cabinet after deciding to continue in power at the head of a minority coalition despite an election setback that left his coalition with only 70 seats in the 179-seat Parliament. His new 22-member Cabinet includes six incoming ministers and two new ministries, for economic coordination and health. The two small parties in his coalition, the Center Democrats and the Christian People’s Party, each gained a Cabinet seat. Schlueter, Denmark’s first Conservative prime minister this century, resigned earlier this week, but Queen Margrethe II asked him to form a new government.
