Angel Cordero passed Johnny Longden to become thoroughbred racing’s No. 3 all-time jockey, riding Seattle Knight to victory in the sixth race at Belmont Park.
It was Cordero’s 6,063rd winner.
Cordero trails Bill Shoemaker, who has more than 8,600 winners, and Laffit Pincay, who has about 6,800. Longden retired in 1966 with 6,062 winners.
