The 1,700-member Women’s Committees of the Orange County Philharmonic Society are winners of the fourth annual Costa Mesa Arts Award, handed out Thursday by the Arts Committee of the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce.
The 31 committees, spread throughout Orange County, were lauded in particular for their work in implementing the Philharmonic Society’s Youth Programs.
Prior winners of the award were the Board of Directors of the Orange County Performing Arts Center (1986); the Costa Mesa City Council (1985), and David Emmes and Martin Benson, founders of South Coast Repertory (1984).
