Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a man in connection with the stabbing death four months ago of a Navy enlisted man, whose body was found at a Pine Valley campground, Sgt. Rick Figueroa said.
Douglas Scott Ingham, 23, was booked at County Jail on Thursday on suspicion of murder and is being held without bail, Figueroa said.
“Homicide detectives expect to make additional arrests in the case, and the investigation is continuing,” Figueroa said.
The victim was identified through dental records as Scott Lee Hill, 27, who was a first class petty officer assigned as an instructor at the Navy’s anti-submarine warfare school in San Diego, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
Hill was identified after Sheriff’s homicide detectives received an anonymous tip from a person who had seen a Crime Stoppers re-enactment on television, Figueroa said.
