Fullerton to Meet Rancho Santiago

Rancho Santiago College, which has opened its last two seasons with upsets of Fullerton, will try to make it three in a row tonight at 7:30 in a nonconference football game at Santa Ana Stadium.
Rancho Santiago defeated Fullerton, 26-23, last season and 27-24 in 1985.
Both teams feature new quarterbacks. Rick Burns, a sophomore from Santiago High School who played very little last season, starts for Rancho Santiago.
Fullerton Coach Hal Sherbeck said he won’t name his starting quarterback until after pregame drills. Fullerton’s quarterbacks are all new--Frank Ricco, Kerry Severson, Victor Williams and Paul Rodriguez.
Fullerton leads the series, 30-29, with four ties.
In another nonconference opener:
Golden West at Bakersfield, 7:30--Golden West won at Bakersfield, 24-14, in last season’s opener. Sophomore Bill Marler will start at quarterback for Golden West.
