Garden Grove 10, Savanna 7--Bill Moll kicked a 20-yard field goal with 21 seconds left to carry the Argonauts over the Rebels in Glover Stadium.
Tony Osendorf scored for Savanna in the second quarter, going 79 yards on a fumble recovery. Mike Moore had a one-yard run for Garden Grove.
La Habra 7, Warren 0--Fullback Mike Destiche scored the game’s only touchdown on an 18-yard run early in the second quarter, leading the Highlanders at home.
Destiche’s score was set up three plays earlier when Rene Palacios fell on a fumbled punt by Oscar Butao at the Warren 24-yard line.
Defense dominated play on both sides, holding Warren to 119 total yards and never allowing the Bears inside the Highlanders’ 28-yard line. La Habra, meanwhile, was held to only 29 total yards in the second half and 97 for the game.
