College Roundup : Fullerton Upsets SDSU in Soccer

Cal State Fullerton upset No. 11-ranked San Diego State, 3-2, in a men’s nonconference soccer match Friday at Fullerton.
The Titans, who were down, 2-0, at halftime, rallied to take the lead with less than five minutes remaining. Greg Cipolla, a freshman forward from Irvine High School, scored the winning goal with a 20-yard kick with 4:57 left. Joel Baskins and Tom Atencio also scored for Fullerton in the second half.
In Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. play:
San Jose State 1, UC Irvine 0--John Regnerson scored with 6:36 left as the Spartans (1-2, 1-2-1) defeated the Anteaters (1-2, 1-2). Richard Rafloski set up the goal.
In women’s volleyball:
Sophomore Susan Herman had 21 kills to lead Cal State Fullerton to one loss and two wins in the first day of the Titan-Mizuno Collegiate women’s volleyball tournament Friday in Titan Gym.
In the first game, the Titans (7-1) lost to Northern Arizona, 15-13, 15-3. In the second and third games, Fullerton defeated Utah State, 15-9, 15-12, and defeated Loyola Marymount, 15-12, 15-8.
