. . . The illustrious Jean Kerr, writing in the NYTimes, was unnerved by the film “Leonard Part VI.” Grumbled Kerr: “To realize that I have drifted so far from the mainstream that a movie could be successful enough to justify five sequels and a Roman numeral without my ever having heard of it.” Then she launched into an attack on the lack of Hollywood imagination in titles. But, oops, the title to Bill Cosby’s upcoming “Leonard” is a satire of sequel titles!

. . . Of course, Cheech Marin wasn’t really “Born in East L.A.” He was born in central L.A.--and raised in the Valley.

. . . Not that we don’t make misspellings now and then--but we had to chortle over Patricia Brennan’s Washington Post piece on Leonard Maltin and his anthology “TV Movies and Video Guide.” She quotes Maltin’s top 10 faves, including “Citizen Caine.” Is that maybe Michael? Or was she thinking of “The Kane Mutiny”?

. . . But can he ever act: Ads for “Owl and the Pussycat” at Anaheim’s Grand Hotel dinner theater are touting star Patrick Wayne as “The Duke’s Son.”

. . . Brigitte Nielsen, currently starring in lots of juicy headlines, has appeared in only four pics--two of ‘em with her soon-to-be-ex, Sly--but already she’s a “type.” Witness a film casting notice in a recent issue of Drama-logue, calling for a blonde female, “20-30, tall, outrageous, Brigitte Nielsen-type.”
