Laguna Beach : Man, 78, Killed by Car While on El Toro Road

A 78-year-old Santa Ana man was killed early Saturday when he was struck by a car while walking alone down the middle of El Toro Road.
Bert H. Francis died at the scene at about 2:45 a.m., police said.
The car was traveling west on El Toro Road about a mile east of Laguna Canyon Road when it hit Francis, who was wearing dark clothing and was difficult to see, police said.
Police said the driver was not cited. Investigators said it was unclear what Francis was doing on the two-lane road at that hour.
