2-Year-Old Left Buckled Inside Car Dies of Heat

CLINTON, N.C. — A 2-year-old girl left buckled into her car seat while her grandmother worked at a textile mill died of heatstroke from temperatures up to 160 degrees inside the parked car, a report said Saturday. No charges had been filed against the grandmother in the death Friday of Britanny Marie New, police told the News and Observer of Raleigh.
