Martin Sklar, a veteran Walt Disney executive, has been named president of Walt Disney Imagineering, the subsidiary responsible for design and engineering of such projects as Euro Disneyland.
Burbank-based Disney said that Sklar succeeds Carl Bongirno, who will be cutting back his business activities for reasons of health after a 25-year career at Disney. Bongirno, president of the subsidiary since 1979, will continue as a special adviser, the company said.
Sklar joined Disney in 1955. He helped develop Walt Disney World and EPCOT theme parks in Florida and most recently served as executive vice president of the Imagineering creative group.
