Thirty-one people were arrested for trespassing on the Nevada Test Site during a demonstration commemorating Grandparents Day. Counter-demonstrators, including test site workers and their families, waited almost four hours in overcast, blusterly weather for the group of about 50 protesters to arrive. There was no violence. The Nevada Test Site, 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, is the nation’s nuclear weapons testing center.
