Shia Amal militiamen and Palestinian guerrillas traded gunshots and rocket fire outside the Lebanese port city of Sidon, violating a two-day-old cease-fire agreement designed to halt three years of fighting between the two groups. Security sources said that Amal gunmen in positions overlooking the refugee camps of Miye ou Miye and Ein el Hilwa southeast of Sidon skirmished with Palestinians around the camps for several hours. There were no reports of casualties.
