Orange County College Roundup : UC Irvine Scores 1-0 Soccer Win

Mike Perisi scored with 10 minutes left in the game to give UC Irvine a 1-0 men’s soccer victory over Cal Lutheran Sunday at Irvine.

UCI goalie Mike Gartlan made nine saves. UCI is 2-2; Cal Lutheran is 0-1.

San Diego State 4, Chapman 0--Forward Eric Wynalda had a goal and an assist to lead host San Diego State to a nonconference win.

SDSU (3-2) held a 1-0 lead at the half, but scored three goals in seven minutes early in the second period. The Aztecs, ranked 11th in Division I, outshot the Panthers, 21-6. Chapman fell to 2-2.

In women’s soccer:

St. Mary’s 2, Chapman 0--Junior forward Desi Engle scored both goals at Chapman. Engle broke a scoreless tie at the 58:35 mark when she connected from five yards. She scored her other goal at 63:10, when she hooked a shot in from 20 yards.

St. Mary’s (4-0-1) outshot Chapman, 18-3.
