Police are investigating the slaying of a Southeast San Diego man who died of a gunshot wound to the head Sunday.
Police responded to a call at 5:35 p.m. and found Guadalupe Alvarado, 34, lying on a sidewalk in the 4100 block of Martin Luther King Way in Southeast San Diego, Sgt. C.T. Martin said Monday.
Witnesses told police they saw the victim talking with two men in a car before he was shot in the head and fell to the sidewalk.
“They heard shots and looked to see the victim fall back from the car as it pulled away,” Martin said.
Paramedics brought Alvarado to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:30 p.m., Martin said.
