Sibille Hits Winning Notes With Fa La Te Dough

Fa La Te Dough, with Ray Sibille aboard, gained the lead in the final sixteenth and withstood a ferocious closing challenge to win the $54,750 Coronado Stakes for 2-year-old fillies Monday at Del Mar.
Hawk’s Heather, ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye, finished second, a length in front of Careless Flirt, with Laffit Pincay Jr. aboard, in the field of eight.
Fa La Te Dough ran the six furlongs on the fast track in 1:10 3/5 and earned $32,250 for the victory.
Never far back, Fa La Te Dough paid $18.20, $8.20 and $4.60. Hawk’s Heather returned $7.80 and $4.40, and Careless Flirt paid $2.60 to show.
