A team of 10 Orange County women from the Los Caballeros Racquet Club in Fountain Valley will represent the Southern California section in the United States Tennis Assn./Volvo Tennis League 3.0 National Championships, Thursday through Sunday at Seabrook Island, S.C.
More than 100,000 adults participate every year in the league, which features team competition based on six ability levels ranging from novice (2.5) to advanced (5.0).
Karen Blackburn, Eileen Crouch, Judy Evans, Lyn Headly, Donna Mosby, Alice Sturner, Rosemary Taylor, Midge Thompson and Kathy Wancheck, all of Fountain Valley, and Judy Eastham, of Irvine, qualified for the event by winning the USTA/Volvo Tennis League sectionals in early August.
Competing in both singles and doubles, the Orange County women will play each 3.0 team from the USTA’s 16 other sections.
