Ex-Miami Mayor to Run Against Winner of 1985

MIAMI — Maurice Ferre, mayor of Miami for 12 years until he was unseated by Xavier Suarez in 1985, announced Tuesday that he will attempt a comeback. Ferre, who filed for office at City Hall, will face Cuban-born Suarez and black attorney Arthur Teele in the primary Nov. 3.
