An El Monte woman who admitted sending a sexually explicit photo of her 11-year-old daughter to her pen pal in a Florida prison was sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to undergo psychiatric therapy. Pamela Smith, 33, pleaded guilty to child pornography charges after prison officials found the photo during a routine mail inspection. A subsequent investigation revealed that Smith had made plans to take her daughter to the prison and allow her to be molested by inmate Bobby J. Cornelius, who is serving a 15-year prison term for molesting his own 6-year-old daughter, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Bonnie Klapper. Smith’s daughter and her 3-year-old son have been placed in her ex-husband’s custody.
