Defending Division III national champion UC San Diego defeated host Cal State Bakersfield, 13-15, 15-13, 17-15, 17-15, in a women’s volleyball match Tuesday.
Janet Hughes had 18 kills and Ellen Chi had 15 for the Tritons (3-0).
