Circuit City Stores said its second-quarter net income rose 51% to a record $10.8 million from the year-ago quarter. The Richmond, Va.-based retailer reported that revenue for the three months ended Aug. 31 rose 33% to $289.3 million. The company attributed the improvement to increased revenue as well as improved operating and net profit margins.
