The Region : Ex-Husband Clings to Car

A woman was arrested on suspicion of felony child endangering when police spotted her speeding erratically through Hollywood with her ex-husband clinging to the hood. A police spokesman said Laura Feher, 24, abducted her 3-year-old daughter from the child’s legal guardian, ex-husband Pedro Mendieta, 23, who had jumped on the hood of the car in an effort to stop her. A police helicopter crew spotted the car weaving along Western Avenue near Fountain Avenue with a man spread-eagled on the hood and two other cars in pursuit. The helicopter crew kept the speeding vehicle in sight while alerting a patrol car that joined the chase and finally forced Feher’s car to stop. Mendieta and his daughter were not hurt. Feher was held in lieu of $3,000 bail.
