Santa Monica : Development Proposed
A developer has proposed building a $23.5-million specialty shopping mall, patterned after San Francisco’s Ghiradelli Square, at the Cheerio restaurant site at Ocean Avenue and Pico Boulevard. The 72,590-square-foot project, submitted by Richard Darling, would be known as “Bayside Marketplace.”
The four-story development would include restaurants, shops, designer clothing stores and arts and crafts, according to a spokesman for the project.
An environmental review will be prepared before the project is submitted to the Planning Commission. The city had no comment on the proposal.
